'Xenocode Postbuild 2008 error'

If you are seeing a 'Xenocode Postbuild 2008 error - Unable to load a required virtual machine component' we have a few options to try.

Xenocode has not been used in Schedule It for many years so if you can update your version this will prevent this being an issue with any future updates to Windows.

An update from Microsoft KB3045999 is also known to cause this error on some computers. Removing this update allows it to run until it is applied again automatically in the future. See https://www.infoworld.com/article/2914590/microsoft-windows/windows-patch-kb-3045999-conflicts-with-mcafee-error-c0000018-romax-virtualbox.html

Option A,

Install the latest version 7 of Schedule It were Xenocode is no longer required or used. Download from here

Option B,

Navigate to C:/Documents and Settings/USER/Local Settings/Application Data/Xenocode/Sandbox, and delete any Schedule It folder.

Different versions of windows may have a slightly different file structure.

Option C,

1, Navigate to C:/Users/USER/AppData/Local

2, Right click on the 'Xenocode' folder, go to 'Properties'

3, Make sure 'Read-only' is unchecked in the 'General' tab. [May say 'Read-only (Only applies to files in folder)']

4, Go to the 'Security' tab.

5, Below the list of users, click 'Edit'. In the following window, click 'Add...'

6, Enter 'Everyone' into the box.

7, Click OK.

8, Back in the list of users, select 'Everyone' and check 'Full control' in the Permissions box.

9, Click 'Apply' and close out of these windows.

10, Back in C:/Users/USER/AppData/Local, open the 'Xenocode' folder.

11, Do a search of your files for 'scheduleit' (no more, no less).

12, Find and delete all files that are found.

Try to run Schedule It again.
