Tasks and To-Dos come to Schedule It Online

Starting today, we have added Tasks in Schedule It so you can keep track of your tasks and to-dos alongside your normal scheduled events. Now there is a single way to manage all your events, tasks and to-dos, for all your users.

The new Tasks have a due date, and incomplete tasks are carried over to the next day until you mark them as complete. For example, if you create a task to 'call a client' or 'submit a report', you'll see the task each day until you mark it as 100% complete.

The new Tasks feature is putting productivity into action by encouraging you to schedule your tasks rather than endlessly adding them to a list. When you're creating a new task, Schedule It will prompt you to add a due date and time so that it can alert you and keep it in view.

Perhaps more importantly, by keeping your to-do list and your schedule in the same visual space, you are more likely to start scheduling those tasks, or even knock off the small tasks when you notice a window in time. When you see that your next task is scheduled for at least 5 minutes later, you can take care of one of the small items that you see in your recurring tasks, like paying a bill or filing that report.

Productivity methods are subjective. What works for me might not work for you, so it's impossible to answer whether Schedule It is the perfect fit for you to get things done. But Tasks go a long way in making it great for companies and people who…

  • prefer to work based on a schedule or based on deadlines,
  • could improve their time management and reduce missing out on small tasks, and
  • forget about pending tasks from previous days when they start a new day.

As with any productivity app or method, give this a shot, and never forget or fail to complete those important tasks again.
